Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least [13 / 16 / 18, confirm] years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Some content on Gatariya is rated Mature or Explicit. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher, to access content with those ratings.

By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that your use of the Service does not violate any law applicable to you.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. You may not create an account for anyone other than yourself, share your account, or maintain more than one account to evade restrictions or moderation decisions.

We may suspend or terminate your account as described in Section 10.

3. Content You Publish

Ownership. You retain ownership of the creative content you publish on Gatariya, including chapters, cover art, and other original material ("Your Content").

License to us. By publishing Your Content, you grant Gatariya a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, format-convert, and distribute Your Content solely for the purpose of operating, promoting, and providing the Service (for example, displaying your chapters to readers, generating cover thumbnails, or featuring your work on the homepage). This license ends when you remove the content or close your account, except where a copy needs to persist for a limited time for backups, legal compliance, or to fulfill purchases readers already made before removal.

Your warranties. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to publish Your Content, and that it does not infringe or misappropriate any third party's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.

Reader access you sell. If a reader unlocks a chapter or book using credits before you remove or unpublish it, that reader may keep the access they already purchased even after removal, except where required otherwise by law or a valid legal takedown.

4. Content Rules

All content you publish, upload, or post, including chapters, cover art, illustrations, descriptions, titles, comments, and profile information, must comply with our Content Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

We may remove content, adjust its age rating or content warnings, limit its visibility, or take other action described in the Content Policy's Enforcement section if it violates these Terms or the Content Policy.

5. Credits and Purchases

Gatariya uses a virtual credit system to unlock certain chapters and books. By purchasing credits, you agree to the following:

• Credits are a limited, revocable license to access content on Gatariya. They are not currency, property, or a financial instrument.
• Credits have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for cash, and cannot be sold, gifted, or transferred to another account or another person.
• Purchases of credits are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or at our sole discretion.
• We may change credit pricing, bundle sizes, or bonus amounts for future purchases at any time. Changes do not affect credits you already own.
• Credits may expire or be forfeited if your account is terminated for violating these Terms.
• You are responsible for any taxes associated with your purchases.

6. Creator Monetization

Setting a price on your chapters or books lets readers spend credits to unlock them. [Describe here whether/how creators are paid a share of credit revenue, minimum payout thresholds, payment schedule, and any fees, once that program exists. If creators are not currently paid a revenue share, say so plainly instead of implying they are.]

Any current or future creator payout program is governed by these Terms and any additional payout terms we publish separately.

7. Prohibited Conduct

In addition to the rules in our Content Policy, you agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with paywalls, credit checks, DRM, or other access or security features
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract content from the Service without our written permission
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or its networks
• Use bots, scripts, or other automated means to access the Service except as we explicitly permit (for example, a documented public API, if one exists)
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or organization

8. Copyright and DMCA

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect creators to do the same. If you believe content on Gatariya infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice under our separate Copyright and DMCA Policy [link once published], which describes our takedown and counter-notice procedures.

We may remove content and terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

9. Our Intellectual Property

The Gatariya name, logo, website design, and underlying software are owned by [Company Legal Name] and are protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks or branding without our prior written permission.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your account, in whole or in part, if you violate these Terms or the Content Policy, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. We will generally provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue except where the violation is severe, poses a risk to others, or requires immediate action.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, license grants for content already distributed to readers, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, will survive.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content on the Service is accurate, complete, or reliable. Content published by other users reflects the views of those users, not Gatariya.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gatariya and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of [$100 / the amount you paid us in the past 12 months].

13. Indemnification
